Second Chance Checking
Believe it or not, but there are a number of second chance checking banks out there that can help you with your problem. It is not an easy thing to deal with when you do not have a checking account to manage your money with. Second chance checking banks know that you have had problems in the past, and they want to give you another shot at managing your money once again. Starting over with a new checking account is a great way to get into the habit of managing your money. Although those debit card sleeves that they give you with line items to record your debits and credits seem kind of pointless, those little things will help you save yourself from getting NSF fees. Although non sufficient funds fees do not seem fair, these are the rules of the banks that we have to play with. You want to make sure you write down each and every charge or deposit to your checking account so you know exactly what is going on. If you write a check for a company or a person, it could be weeks until they cash it. That is why if you write it down and keep the balance of your checking account written down, it will help you keep focus on how much money you actually have available. With your second chance checking account, you do not want to mess it up. You already know how frustrating it can be without a checking account, and you should treat your new bank account like your baby. Not all banks out there will give you a checking account with your past history, but there are banks out there that will give you a second chance. You will not be able to get a second chance checking account with the bank that you got into trouble with. So that should not be the first place you start to look when you are trying to get a new bank account. Another great way to find financial institutions is to look on the internet. It will save you time by looking around that way instead of going around to all the different banks. Depending on the bank that you go with, you will or will not have the same full benefits of a new checking account. Some will give you all the same abilities as a regular checking account, and others will have some restrictions on the checking account until you prove yourself. Just figure that you do not want to make any mistakes on this new account. If you mess it up and go into the negative just once, they can cancel your account and you are out of luck. That is something that we do not want to do with our second chance. Start to form good habits with keeping track of your money, and you will do great with your second chance checking account.
